ALLENDALE TWP. - Two teenagers from Grand Rapids were taken into custody for weapons violations in Allendale early Sunday morning.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office announced that two teens, ages 17 and 19, were arrested for carrying a concealed weapon following a traffic stop. The stop, which was for a traffic violation, occurred at around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, on 48th Avenue, near Grand Valley State University's campus.
Deputies have increased patrols in the area after a shooting Sept. 14, but the stop was not related to that incident.
