An Avondale mother has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of her 3-year-old son, according to court documents.
Molly Krebs, 27, is also charged with endangering children following the death of Jayden Krebs. Both charges are felonies.
Cincinnati police report that the boy had an allergic reaction and then Krebs gave the child Benadryl, placed him in a bathtub of water and left him "unattended for a long period of time."
Court documents do not say how Jayden died.
Police said officers responded to Krebs's apartment on Ridgeway Ave. just after midnight early Thursday for a report of an unresponsive child. Jayden was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, the department said in a press release.
Court documents show Krebs was on probation at the time of Jayden's death. In June 2021, she pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a firearm. Police said she was stopped on Reading Road and had a loaded gun near the center console. The documents state she was not allowed to possess a firearm due to a prior drug conviction.
Krebs is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center. A date for her first court appearance had not been publicized at the time of this report.
