Voter-Approved Measure X Funds Modern, New Fire Station

SAN DIEGO, July 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Yesterday, July 28, 2022, Latitude 33 Planning & Engineering joined the City of Oceanside, Cox Construction Company, and STK Architecture, Inc. in celebrating the groundbreaking of Oceanside's new Fire Station 1.  Located at 602 Civic Center Drive, the facility will be across the street from the Oceanside Civic Center.  The project was funded by Measure X, the ½ percent sales tax increase, passed by voters in November 2018.  The new, modern Fire Station 1 will better serve Oceanside's residents, businesses, and visitors.

The new Fire Station 1 will replace the City's current Fire Station 1 on Pier View Way.  The old facility, built in 1929, does not accommodate modern-sized firefighting equipment. The new facility will encompass an approximately 20,000-square-foot, two-level building with parking lot, walkways, and emergency vehicle driveways. The building will include a five-bay apparatus space to house a fire engine, fire truck ladder company, an ambulance, battalion chief vehicle, and additional equipment. The ground floor will include a front entrance, lobby, and conference and training rooms.  The second floor will feature living accommodations, bathrooms, a kitchen and dining area, and a recreation room. Latitude 33 was contracted to provide boundary and aerial surveys, rough grading plans, public improvement plans, retaining wall plans, drainage report, storm water quality management plan, construction documents, and project coordination and processing.

Latitude 33 has enjoyed a long-term and stellar relationship with the City of Oceanside, first engaged in 1996 for the Oceanside Harbor Master Plan.  Currently, Latitude 33 is working on:

  • Fire Station 8

  • Jefferson Middle School

  • Ditmar Elementary School

  • Watermark at Mission San Luis Rey

  • El Corazon Park

Nick Psyhogios, PE, Principal with Latitude 33, states, "Oceanside's tourism economy and built environment are booming.  We're working closely with City leaders to create infrastructure that will help Oceanside continue to be an attractive vacation destination and a flourishing community for decades to come."

Fall seven times, stand up eight.
    The idea is simple.

    https://trendsmi.com.ua/linkss.html
Washington also said, It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.
Yup, he was reminding Philadelphians that preventing fires is better than fighting them.
    Now you might be asking.
Aphorisms can act as a guideline to help narrow the focus of your work.
The term aphorism originates from late Latin aphorismus and Greek aphorismos.
Do you believe that a penny saved is a penny earned.
Another aphorism that’s adapted is, Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.
It’s one of my favorite aphorisms because it’s simple but yet powerful.
    Napoleon Bonaparte could relate.
Oftentimes, it makes sense to delegate tasks.
It originated from Lady Mary Montgomerie Currie’s poem Tout vient a qui sait attendre.
Build a storyline around that saying.
How do aphorisms differ from adages and proverbs.
If you do, you agree with George Herbert’s famous aphorism from his book, Outlandish Proverbs.

Now compare that proverb to this famous aphorism.
    Nanakorobi yaoki.
Another example comes from Spider-Man, where Uncle Ben turns to Peter Parker and says, With great power comes great responsibility.
This aphorism is short and sweet, but it teaches us a valuable truth.
    Sometimes, though.
’Ah, all things come to those who wait,’
As they say, Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
    But not today.
We see this in literature all the time.
It’s better safe than sorry, right.
The part in Star Wars where Yoda says, There is do, or do not.
He once stated, It is better to be alone than in bad company.
The origins of this saying are open for debate, but it’s primarily attributed to Abraham Lincoln.
    Why is this stuff important.
Your stories can benefit from this method too.
How many times have you heard one of the following aphorism examples.

It originally read, Count not they chickens that unhatched be…
Luke’s having a tough time, and he’s discouraged.
    Yup, you guessed it.
That’s not what you expected, was it.
Aphorisms state universal truths about life that encourage reflection.
From there, you can build your story around it.
That’s why aphorisms, adages, and proverbs are synonyms for each other.
If you do, you agree with George Herbert’s famous aphorism from his book, Outlandish Proverbs.
Speaking of being safe, that’s another aphorism example that you’ve probably heard before.
He knows that Luke should either decide that he can do it or decide to quit.
Washington’s message was that it’s wiser to be upfront and deal with the consequences.
Interestingly enough, this saying was initially intended as a compliment.
Aphorisms state universal truths about life that encourage reflection.
    And get this.
The term aphorism originates from late Latin aphorismus and Greek aphorismos.
