A Nebraska man who had just been fired from his job at a grain elevator returned Thursday afternoon with a gun, killing one person and injuring two more people before another employee grabbed a shotgun and killed him.
Max Hoskinson, 61, lost his job Thursday morning at an Agrex facility in Superior, police said.
Hoskinson left the building, but returned just before 2 p.m. with a handgun and opened fire, Nebraska State Patrol said in a press release.
An employee at the Agrex elevator grabbed a shotgun from an office and fatally shot Hoskinson to end the bloodshed, according to police.
The cops arrived to find one victim dead, one victim with serious injuries and one with minor injuries. The person with life-threatening injuries was flown to Lincoln, about 90 miles northeast, police said. The person with minor injuries was treated in Superior, a 2,000-person city less than one mile north of the Kansas border.
Hoskinson was also dead at the scene, police said. The victims' identities have not been released.
