The incident occurred around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday on the 200 block of Tomlinson Mill Road, according to Evesham police.

Officers responding to a report of a burglary in progress learned the homeowner was chasing a suspect on foot, said a police account.

The suspect, who had entered the home through a rear window, fled with the resident's loaded gun and other possessions, the account said.

Police located and arrested a suspect, 30-year-old Alejandro Bonilla-Camen of the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township.

He is charged with burglary, theft and possession of methamphetamines.

The charges are only allegations, and Bonilla-Camen has not been convicted in the case.

He was being held Wednesday in Burlington County Jail.
