The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman's body was found Friday evening along a rural stretch of road in Wade.
According to a news release, deputies were called to the 6000 block of River Road at 8:33 p.m. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene. Her identity was withheld pending next of kin notification. The Sheriff's Office did not provide further details.
