A homeless man is wanted for sexually assaulting and choking a woman on a downtown Manhattan jogging path last month.
Police on Wednesday identified Carl Phanor, 28, as the bicycle-riding assailant who attacked a 39-year-old woman jogger near Pier 40 by Clarkson and West Sts. about 6:10 a.m. March 27.
Phanor, whose last address was The Bowery Mission shelter on Lafayette St., remains at large.
Cops alleged he shoved the woman to the ground as she jogged north, then sexually assaulted her and stole her cell phone. He then got back on his bike and fled.
Shortly before the attack, the attacker was caught on video masturbating on his bicycle about six blocks away, on West St. and Charles Lane, cops said.
Phanor has a lengthy criminal history, including a felony assault arrest in 2017, police sources said.
Cops ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
