Leading up to Election Day, candidates Joe Biden and President Donald Trump have traveled extensively. Here's a look at the states each campaigned in, and where they still plan to visit.

Travel schedule starting Oct. 12

President Donald Trump focused on the key swing state of Florida, along with the battlegrounds of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. But he also defended traditional Republican strongholds in Georgia, Iowa and North Carolina, which have competitive Senate races. Trump's travels in the month before the election included both official and campaign stops.

Democratic nominee Joe Biden also focused on the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Florida. But he also visited North Carolina and Ohio, which became more competitive as the campaign progressed.

President Donald Trump zigzagged across more than a dozen stops as the race heated up. Besides the routine tossups, he visited Democratic-leaning New Hampshire and Maine, whose northern district could provide an electoral vote. Trump also reminded Arizona and Ohio of their support for him before they became more competitive this year.

Democratic nominee Joe Biden stayed close to home while preparing for the debate in Nashville. He held campaign events in Delaware and eastern Pennsylvania.

The final week before Election Day, Oct. 26-Nov. 1

President Donald Trump was scheduled to make two dozen stops during the final week of the campaign, mapping a ring of the most hotly contested states. The itinerary showed repeated visits to Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin and North Carolina. He won all but Nevada in 2016.

Democratic nominee Joe Biden played offense and defense during the final week of the campaign. Beyond the battlegrounds of Florida and Pennsylvania, Biden courted Republican Georgia and planned to visit Iowa. He also planned to visit St. Paul after Trump lavished attention on Democratic Minnesota.
