We can assure you our high school wardrobes never looked this good.
Fall has really only just started here in New York City, with warm weather lingering well past its expiration date. We were all pretty excited to finally have the chance to bust out our new coats and beanies, but then Tracee Ellis Ross had to go out in the best spring-worthy outfit and ruin that for all us.
Ross attended the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles on Saturday in a look that would have made "Pretty Woman"'s Vivian jealous. Between the green, polka-dotted button down, the roomy, mustard pants and the dandy brogues, this outfit is as stylish as it is practical for roaming the grassy fields. But what makes this look even better is that everything came from Ross's own closet - that's right, no borrowed clothes here.
In a post to her Instagram, she credits the pants as being favorites from Céline, and the top as an "Agnes B button down from high school." From high school! My French club T-shirt from sophomore year is the only thing I still wear from my own high school days - and even then it's for when I'm cleaning my apartment, not going to a polo match.
The comfy brogues are Stuart Weitzman, the clutch is Louis Vuitton, andthe hat is Eric Javits, but the joyous attitude and innate sense of style are all Ross's own. That's the stuff of a true style icon.
