Tony Allen perfectly responds to snub from list of NBA's top defenders

Kobe Bryant once declared Tony Allen the "best defender" he ever faced in his career.

Considering the former Celtic has six NBA All-Defensive Team selections on his résumé, that doesn't come as much of a surprise. What does come as a surprise, however, is the SportsCenter Twitter account leaving Allen off a list that includes some of the best defenders in NBA history.

SportsCenter's tweet asks, "Kobe has the ball, you need a stop for your life. Which defender are you taking?" and has Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan, Gary Payton, Dwyane Wade, Ben Wallace, Kawhi Leonard, Dennis Rodman, Draymond Green, LeBron James, and Kevin Garnett as the available candidates. Allen responded to his snub with a simple and appropriate shrug emoji.

Our reaction exactly, Tony, along with plenty others. . .

Allen played with the C's from 2004-10, winning an NBA championship over Bryant's Lakers in '08. The 37-year-old came off the bench for the Pelicans last season.

''LeBron, when he's out, it's taking away a lot of things that we do, so it's on all of us to make sure we kind of fill those voids, and I think we did that tonight,'' Davis said.
