Tennis star Caroline Wozniacki posts birthday bikini pic, and puts her Wimbledon loss behind her

Caroline Wozniacki was defeated during a one-on-one matchup at Wimbledon last week, but fortunately, the No. 2 seed seems to be taking her loss in stride.

And that's likely because the tennis star is celebrating her 28th birthday in Capri, Italy, today. She shared an adorable photo on her Instagram account, posing happily at the front of a boat in a pale purple bikini. Her hair is down and she's wearing a simple silver cross necklace as she kneels in front of a rock formation.

"Birthday smiles," she captioned the upbeat photo.

She was beaten by Ekaterina Makarova, the reigning Wimbledon doubles champion, who won the 2016 title with partner Elina Vesnina. This win marks the second time Makarova has defeated Wozniacki in a one-on-one matchup; the other time was in the 2017 U.S. Open.

But while Wozniacki may have lost at Wimbledon, she seems to have left her defeat on the court and moved forward with an exciting birthday trip. Just yesterday she posted a photo with her fiancé, David Lee, in which the couple posed with a sleek black helicopter.

The Danish tennis champion announced her engagement to NBA player David Lee of the San Antonio Spurs back in November. Lee popped the question while the two were on vacation in Bora Bora - and it wasn't long before Wozniacki showed off the sparkler on Instagram, revealing a very large oval diamond, which takes up most of her first knuckle, and a channel-set diamond band.

Lee shared a birthday message on his Instagram as well, sending a sweet sentiment to his love. "I can't wait to marry you and grow old with you, but for now let's continue to enjoy your 20's," he wrote.

Before Lee, Wozniacki was engaged to golf star Rory McIlroy. The couple ended their engagement soon after sending out wedding invitations in 2014.
