Duchess Kate is known for her enviable style. Her closet boats a plethora of gorgeous designer creations, custom maternity ensembles and the chicest accessories and diamonds, but sometimes, we don't even get so much as a glimpse as to the full Middleton style effect.
That's because, according to multiple reports, the Duchess isn't allowed to take off her coat in public. Even recently, when Kate and Prince William were meeting with the Norweigan royals at a private indoor lunch, she sat and mingled, her burgundy Dolce & Gabbana coat still buttoned.
However, Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit, along with William, donned a more casual indoor attire for the meeting on the couch.
Why? Because it's seen as "unladylike." It seems if the duchess wants to remove her coat, she must do it privately, away from others and especially, away from the cameras. The same royal protocol goes for other members of the royal family.
However, we're still waiting to see if Meghan Markle breaks this royal style rule.
