Usually, when one insider buys stock, it might not be a monumental event. But when multiple insiders are buying like they did in the case of Bango PLC (LON:BGO), that sends out a positive message to the company's shareholders.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Check out our latest analysis for Bango

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Bango

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Independent Non-Executive Director Frank Bury bought UK£94k worth of shares at a price of UK£1.88 per share. That implies that an insider found the current price of UK£2.00 per share to be enticing. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. The good news for Bango share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.

In the last twelve months Bango insiders were buying shares, but not selling. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Insider Ownership Of Bango

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. It appears that Bango insiders own 15% of the company, worth about UK£23m. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.

So What Do The Bango Insider Transactions Indicate?

There haven't been any insider transactions in the last three months -- that doesn't mean much. However, our analysis of transactions over the last year is heartening. Insiders do have a stake in Bango and their transactions don't cause us concern. While we like knowing what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision. While conducting our analysis, we found that Bango has 2 warning signs and it would be unwise to ignore these.
