Christopher Glenn Jarvis, 33, was free Monday from Wichita County Jail on a $10,000 bond, according to online jail records.

A plea hearing instead of a pretrial conference was mistakenly set by the court, but the plea hearing is canceled, according to Wichita County officials.

A pretrial conference is scheduled Tuesday morning, and there is no plea agreement, according to Wichita County officials.

Jarvis is charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student in connection with an incident Dec. 7, 2017, according to court records.

He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Jarvis is accused of having sex with a female student in a closet storing old choir robes at Wichita Falls High School, according to allegations in a probable cause affidavit filed by a Texas Ranger.

A former Old High student told the ranger that she had a romantic relationship with Jarvis beginning in 2017, according to allegations in court documents.

A search of the closet on Aug. 28, 2020, turned up choir robes with stains determined to be biological fluids, according to allegations in court records.

Jarvis was arrested Sept. 4, 2020, and indicted March 3, court documents show.

He is no longer employed by Wichita Falls ISD, district Communications Officer Ashley Thomas said Monday.

In March, WFISD officials said Jarvis was still on paid administrative leave from the district. Jarvis was put on administrative leave about six months before then, when school officials learned of the Texas Ranger's investigation.

He was to remain on leave as the district conducted an internal investigation, WFISD officials said in previous Times Record News articles.

TRN reached out Monday afternoon to WFISD officials for more information on Jarvis' separation from the district's employment.
