Police: One dead after Southeast Nashville shooting

A man is dead after a Sunday evening shooting in Southeast Nashville, police reported.

The shooting took place just before 6:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Cedarvalley Drive, the Metro Nashville Police Department said. No suspect was in custody as of 7:45 p.m. Sunday. No further details were immediately available on Monday morning.

The man's death marks the fifth person fatally shot in three separate incidents in Nashville over the weekend. One man was fatally shot in a discount grocery store parking lot Friday afternoon. In a separate incident Friday night, a shooting inside an apartment left three dead and four wounded.
