New mock trade has Sixers acquiring Tony Bradley back from Bulls

The Philadelphia 76ers are a team that has championship aspirations for the 2022-23 season and with the Feb. 9 trade deadline right around the corner, they will undoubtedly be looking for upgrades in order to help their chances in a tough Eastern Conference.

The Sixers could use an upgrade at the backup center position. While Montrezl Harrell and Paul Reed have held their own, there are some concerns about the playoffs and it will be interesting to see how they handle this position going forward.

A new mock trade from CBS Sports has the Sixers calling up the Chicago Bulls and bringing back a familiar face in Tony Bradley.

The fake trade proposal

76ers receive: Tony Bradley

Bulls receive: Jaden Springer.

CBS Sports on why the Sixers do this deal

Analyzing the deal from a Sixers standpoint

Bradley proved to be a really solid backup to Joel Embiid while he was a member of Philadelphia. There was a stretch in March before he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder for George Hill where he started seven of eight games with Embiid out. He averaged 9.3 points and 6.8 rebounds in those games and he provided a big defensive presence for the Sixers. He would be a nice addition if the Sixers were to bring him back.

Moving Springer would be tough because he has a bright future as a strong perimeter defender for the Sixers, but he also isn't getting the necessary court time. There are too many players in front of him as Philadelphia is focused more on a title than development at this point in time.
