
Two of the Mets' top prospects have been invited to their spring training.
The Mets announced catcher Kevin Parada and outfielder Alex Ramirez are among 15 players who received invitations to attend the ball club's spring training when it begins in February.
Parada was the Mets' 11th overall pick in the 2022 First-Year Player Draft and is the 36th-best prospect in the majors according to MLB Pipeline and the 50th-best prospect according to Baseball America.
Ramirez is the 96th-best prospect in the majors according to MLB Pipeline and 92nd according to Baseball America. In 121 games between Single-A and High-A, the 20-year-old had 140 hits. He hit .281 with 11 home runs and 71 RBI.
Some other notable invitees include former Yankees outfielder, and base-stealer extraordinaire, Tim Locastro and catcher Michael Perez who appeared in six games for the Mets in August 2022 and was recently signed to a minor league deal.
