Nov. 24-A 28-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl multiple times was sentenced to probation and work release.
Adrian Santarosa, who is also identified in court documents as Adrian Santa Rosa, pleaded guilty in September to sexual exploitation of a child.
On Monday, Santarosa was sentenced by Boulder District Judge Thomas Mulvahill to eight years of probation along with one year of work release. He will also have to serve 60 hours of community service.
According to an arrest affidavit, Erie police were called about a missing girl on Aug. 16, 2020, after her parents said she had run away from home.
The girl was located by police in Denver with Santarosa on Aug. 26, 2020, and the girl was taken for a sexual assault examination.
According to the affidavit, the girl told police she met Santarosa through another person at a hotel in Boulder and they started messaging each other on Snapchat and meeting to have sex.
The girl said she initially told Santarosa she was 18, but later told him she was actually 16.
According to the affidavit, the girl messaged Santarosa to pick her up on Aug.16, 2020. It said they had been having sex and smoking marijuana every day they were together until they were found.
Santarosa told police he thought the girl was 19, and did not answer when initially asked if he had sex with her. But after his phone was confiscated, Santarosa admitted there was a video on the phone of the girl performing oral sex on him.
