Knicks' Julius Randle expects 'chaos' at MSG in home opener vs. Celtics

The last time Knicks fans packed into Madison Square Garden for a game that counted, Trae Young was taking a bow as he and the Atlanta Hawks eliminated the Knicks from the playoffs.

On Wednesday, both the Knicks and their fans will get a fresh start and a chance to get that sour taste out of their mouth when they welcome the Boston Celtics for their home opener.

"Chaos. We're expecting chaos," said power forward Julius Randle. "I think the city's excited to get basketball back. We're excited, start of a new season, so it'll be fun."

Randle, who exploded on the court last year with the best season of his career - one of the biggest reasons the Knicks, who were not expected to make much noise in the Eastern Conference before the season started, got in as the 4th seed - expects more of the same out of himself and the rest of his team.

In 71 games played, Randle finished with a career-high in minutes (37.6), points (24.1), three-point percentage (41.1), assists (6.0), and steals (0.9), while tying his career-high in rebounds (10.2).

As for looking back at last year's incredible run that ended in disappointment for the city of New York, Randle says it's time to start a new one.

"That s-t over with, this is on to the new one."
