Two inmates escaped an Oklahoma jail using a rope crafted out of bed sheets, officials say.

The inmates broke a window and rappelled from their 12th floor cell at the Oklahoma County jail Friday morning, KOCO reported. The jail learned of their escape after Oklahoma City police detained one of the men, who injured his leg, the news outlet reported.

The second inmate was still on the run. He was identified as Pablo Robledo, who's charged with murder, according to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office no longer operates the jail, but it's helping in the search.

Jose Balentin Hernandez, 33, the inmate who's in custody, was caught after he tried to steal a truck, jail officials told The Oklahoman. Hernandez was in jail on rape, indecent exposure and burglary charges, the newspaper reported.

A jail trust took over operations of the detention center in July.

An Oklahoma inmate has been taken into custody after breaking out of his 12th-floor jail cell window and shimmying down what appeared to be sheets tied together. Just before 7 a.m., the Oklahoma City Police Department notified the Oklahoma County Detention Center that it had detained an injured Hernandez, according to authorities, who said the OCDC then determined that Hernandez and Robledo had gone missing. Officials said they believe Hernandez, who was taken to a hospital, broke his leg after jumping from the fourth floor, ABC Oklahoma City affiliate KOCO reported.

Two county jail escapees, including a murder suspect, have been arrested after breaking out of the Oklahoma County jail in Oklahoma City early Friday by using sheets tied together to climb down the outside of the building from a 12th floor cell, authorities said. Pablo Robledo, 34, who was being held on a first-degree murder charge, was found and arrested Friday afternoon in southwest Oklahoma City by city police and U.S. marshals, said jail spokesman Mac Mullings. Mullings noted that Robledo was arrested without incident shortly before 2:30 p.m. in a neighborhood where he may have family living and authorities had been lookout for him.
