Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon has been accused of sexual harassment by an assistant for his sports marketing firm, according to a lawsuit filed in California.

The civil lawsuit was filed on Monday in Orange County Superior Court. According to court documents, Wendy Haskell alleges Moon made ''unwanted and unsolicited'' sexual advances as part of her role as his assistant working for Sports 1 Marketing. Moon is the co-founder and president of the company. The Washington Post first reported on the lawsuit on Wednesday.

Moon played parts of 17 seasons in the NFL with four teams: Houston, Minnesota, Seattle and Kansas City. He threw for 49,325 yards and 291 touchdowns in the regular season and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2006.

Moon is also a radio commentator for the Seattle Seahawks. The team was aware of the lawsuit but had no additional comment.

Worst rule in football won't change until it affects a championship game

It will take that kind of outcome to make the notoriously conservative NFL change the worst rule on the books. There continues to be no good argument in favor of allowing the offense to keep possession when a fumble in the field of play goes out of bounds at the one-inch line but giving the ball to the defense at its own 20 if the ball ends up hitting the pylon or otherwise ending up out of bounds in the end zone.

Ben Roethlisberger didn't want to use the word "crossroads." He did anyway. His team mired in a three-game losing streak and with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on the other sideline Sunday - a sight that typically signals doom for Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers - the longtime quarterback understood his team's enigmatic season had reached a tipping point.

Lions lament being eliminated following 14-13 loss to Bills

Matt Patricia had no time to reflect on missing the playoffs for just the second time during 15 NFL seasons. For one, this isn't New England, where the rookie Detroit Lions coach spent his first 14 seasons as an assistant. ''I'm not going to put anything into summation,'' Patricia said after a 14-13 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday mathematically eliminated the Lions from contention.
