Dodgers activate RHP Maeda, option OF Garlick

The Los Angeles Dodgers activated righthander Kenta Maeda from the 10-day injured list on Sunday, clearing the way for his scheduled start against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Maeda had been sidelined by a left adductor contusion since May 16.

The Dodgers optioned outfielder Kyle Garlick to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Maeda, 31, is in his fourth season, all with the Dodgers, and is 5-2 with a 3.51 ERA this season.

Garlick was hitless in three at-bats during his brief stint with the Dodgers.
