As a person who travels frequently, runs around constantly and is forever far away from a wall outlet, I can attest to the fact that a portable power bank is a life changer. Ever since I started carrying one in my purse everywhere I go, I haven't had to deal with a dead Apple iPhone. My power bank is one of the most convenient things I own, hands down.

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that there are plenty of duds on the market. One brand, however, is the clear standout, and every single tech geek, fellow traveler, and all-around busy person I've spoken to agrees. That brand is Anker-and today only, Anker charging devices are on sale for up to 38 percent off as part of Amazon's deal of the day.

Anker PowerCore Essential 20000

The deal I'm particularly excited about is the Anker PowerCore Essential 20000-one of the smallest, most lightweight power banks on the market that reliably provides up to three and a half charges to your Apple iPhone or Android device while you're on the go. Today only, this fast-charger is 37 percent off on Amazon.

If I didn't already own (and swear by) this gadget, I'd jump on this deal myself. An Anker power bank is perfect for anyone who uses their phone way too much to deal with being a slave to power outlets and just needs a full, on-demand charge-and fast.

I used to have to dip into coffee shops between meetings if I wanted to arrive with a fully powered phone-and in my worst moments, I've covertly borrowed electricity from public power outlets in airport terminals, retail stores, supermarkets and the foyers of offices-that aren't mine.

"First-world problem" as it may be, my life requires me to be constantly connected. My Anker has been going strong for more than a year, and honestly, I couldn't live without it at this point.

Nearly 1,700 Amazon reviewers agree, "This is honestly the nicest power bank I've ever owned," wrote a delighted five-star reviewer. "It's design is stunning, the tiny texture provides a nice feeling holding it, and it's one of the quicker 20000 mAh chargers (receiving and delivering power). I love that it accepts usb-c charging and that it has two out ports. I bought it because I love attending music festivals and needed the extra battery life, which this is perfect for!"

Anker 24W 4.8A Car Charger

Constantly in your car? There's an Anker charging device that's just for you-and it's also part of Amazon's big Anker sale. The Anker 24W 4.8A Car Charger is 27 percent off, today only.

Hit the road with this double-USB device and it'll charge two devices at once up to 80 percent in just 35 minutes. In other words, get in the car with two dead cell phones or a dead Apple iPad, for instance, and get out of the car with an almost fully charged one.

Yes, this one also has more than 1,700 of rave reviews. One shopper said of this device, "The fit and finish is fantastic on this model, better then some more expensive models. I also very much appreciate the lighting on the inside of the ports. There is no light leakage, it is a very subtle way of showing you where to plug in without hurting your eyes at night.

The Anker fan club is coming out in droves for this charger. "I love this charger! It charges quickly, as quickly as the telephone or tablet will allow in most cases," wrote a five-star shopper. "The soft blue lighting around the jacks make them easy to find in the dark, and just pleasant to look at. The fit and finish of the charger seems to be of high quality as well."

Anker 30W PIQ USB-C Fast Charger

Traveling on a time crunch? Amazon's Anker sale includes products that let you charge smartphones or tablets in only minutes instead of waiting for an hour or two for a fully juiced device.

The Anker 30W PIQ USB-C Fast Charger has the power to charge your devices up to 20 times faster than traditional wall chargers, thanks to its 30-watt charger and Anker's "powerIQ" 3.0 technology. This saves so much more charging time compared to its peers.

"The quick charge capability is sweet, in 30 mins it charges roughly 50 percent," wrote another five-star Amazon reviewer. "So I can go from 15 percent to 65 percent so much faster than before. The build quality seems fine, it has good weight to it and seems to be solid. The plug folds up for travel."

Good news! This lightweight little wonder is 27 percent off, today only.
