AFC East: Patriots QB Mac Jones likely to miss multiple games

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has hit a major bump in the road during the early portions of his second season.

According to reports including Patriots Wire, New England's starting quarterback is likely to miss multiple games.

He sustained a "pretty severe" high-ankle sprain in his team's Week 3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

While the Buffalo Bills do not face the Pats until Week 13, it's still important to note Jones' injury. Without Jones in the lineup, veteran backup QB Brian Hoyer replaced him and would most likely do so going forward.

In Week 4, the Patriots will faceoff with the Green Bay Packers.

Officially, New England has yet to provide a timetable for Jones' return. The nature of the injury is most likely going to keep him sidelined for multiple games. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, surgery is still a possibility.

Time will tell if the Pats can stay afloat in the division without Jones.

The Patriots are tied with the New York Jets at the bottom of the AFC East with a 1-2 record. The Bills sit in second at 2-1 behind the 3-0 Miami Dolphins.
