
An 18-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday evening, and a second 18-year-old was shot and injured, according to the Akron Police Department and the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police said they responded to the 1100 block of Fifth Avenue, near Chittenden Street, just before 9 p.m. Sunday and found the teen on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Summa Akron City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:19 p.m.
A second 18-year-old man also had multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. He's currently in stable condition.

Police said they recovered a handgun and other evidence, but "the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown," and the investigation is ongoing.
The teen's identity will be released after he's positively identified and his family is notified.
The last fatal shooting in Akron was more than a month ago, on Oct. 22. Jamarian Coffey, 16, was shot and killed in an altercation on Dodge Avenue in Akron's Highland Square neighborhood, according to police.
